Al Rahman means Allah is the Most Caring towards everything.
Rahman comes from the word Rahm رحم.
Some of the meanings of Rahm are, to love, to have kindness, to have mercy
Another meaning of the word Rahm is when a woman is pregnant,
her stomach is called Rahm.
It’s called Rahm because the baby is taken care of from the mother.
It gets food, it gets warmth, and the mother protects it from any harm.
Even though the baby still doesn’t know the mother yet
and doesn’t have any love or care for the mother yet.
The mother loves her baby soooo much and takes care of it no matter what.
Allah is al Rahman, He takes even more care of you even if you don’t love
Him back or know Him, He still takes care of you.
Whether you are a Muslim or not, or a good person or not, an animal or not,
whatever it is, Allah still takes care of everything.
He provides all of them things such as air to breath, water,
and food and all other things one may need in life.
Just like in Dua Kumayl where it says:
This means His Rahma, His Kindness, Mercy and Care
goes to everyone and everything
So Allah is al Rahman, the Most caring towards everything.
Allah is also Al Rahim. The word Rahim means the Most Kind.
Rahim also comes from the word Rahm, but it is a special kindness to believers only.
Allah swt says in the Holy Quran
