Have you ever wondered what kind of charity keeps rewarding you even after you’ve left this world?
That’s what we call Sadaqah Jariyah (صَدَقَة جَارِيَة) —
The word “ṣadaqah” comes from the Arabic root meaning truth and sincerity.
And “jāriyah” means something that flows or continues.
So Sadaqa Jāriyah is an ongoing charity — a true, sincere act of faith that keeps benefiting others, and keeps rewarding you — even after death.
Allah says in the Qurān:
“The example of those who donate their wealth for the cause of Allah is like a seed [of grain] that seven ears grow from it and in each ear, there are a hundred grains.”
(Sūrah al-Baqarah 2:261)
Imagine — one good deed multiplied hundreds of times. That’s the power of giving for the sake of Allah.
Sadaqah Jāriyah can take many forms…
🔹 Planting a tree that would benefit generations to come
🔹 Spreading beneficial knowledge
🔹 Providing clean water
But among the greatest forms is helping build or support a masjid — the heart of every Muslim community.
When you donate towards a mosque, you’re not just helping build a building.
You’re helping build:
🔹 A place of prayer
🔹 A place of learning
🔹 A home for the Qurān
🔹 A heart for the Muslim community
Your reward also doesn’t stop the moment you give — it keeps flowing…
🔹 Every prayer someone offers there
🔹 Every word of Qurān that’s recited
🔹 Every child that learns something about their faith
🔹 Every community gathering held
🔹 Every person who finds guidance…
You’re a part of all of it — forever.
Your charity becomes like a tree that keeps growing…
A river that keeps flowing…
A reward that keeps echoing — even after you’ve passed away.
The Prophet Muhammad a (ṣallallāhu ʿalayhi wa ālih) is reported to have said:
“When a believer dies, all of their deeds come to an end except for three: a righteous child who prays for them, knowledge from which others benefit, and an ongoing charity (ṣadaqah jāriyah).”

Sadaqa Jāriyah is your chance to invest in the Hereafter.
And what better place to invest in… than the House of Allah?
You may never meet the person who prays on the prayer mat you helped pay for…
You may never hear the Qurān recitation that echoes from the walls you helped build…
But rest assured — Allah hears. Allah sees. And Allah never forgets.
