Which Tafsir do we use for our videos?

Some of you may be wondering what tafsir or commentary do we use when making our tafsir videos.

When we make a tafsir video we look through 4 to 5 different commentaries and hadiths and 4 to 5 different lectures on the subject. We look through both Sunni and Shia tafsir books trying to fit its correct commentary with the Holy verse. We look at each individual word and its Arabic root and translate it to English accordingly.

The commentaries we use are

Sunni Tafsir – Notes from Tafhim al Quran – Sayyid Abdul Ala Maududi
Sunni Tafsir – Notes from Tafsir ibn Kathir

After all this we try to summarize everything into a script. We try and make sense of the whole chapter making it flow with every verse which takes a very long time. After this we send it to our proof editor who checks everything carefully and then we publish the video.
